Question: Why do Jersey residents pay more for their cars than the rest of the UK?
Jersey residents are supposed to benefit from the island's VAT free status but when it comes to buying a new car, Jersey car prices are actually more expensive than those in the UK. So why is this? Surely new cars should be cheaper by at least 17.5%. It would seem logical to think this, but sadly this is not the case.
