biodegradable and compostable food service items

Welcome

Ever wondered what happens to all those disposable products that you use
whenever you eat a meal away from home?
Most of us never give it a thought.    However, the truth is plastic, paper and Styrofoam disposable products     have a dramatic negative effect on the environment.
Plastics and Styrofoam are made from non-renewable resources; require
harmful chemical processing to produce; and do not break down in landfill
for hundreds of years.
Paper packaging utilizes precious forest areas, require harmful chemical
processing and also degrade very slowly in landfills.

PLASTIC PACKAGING IS A PROBLEM

The department of Environment stated that:
In 2001 there was 1,678,900 tonnes of plastic packaging in the waste stream,
an increase from 1,600,000 in 2000.
Our national fast-food industry creates immense amounts of waste through disposable food supplies. Each year, it is estimated that about 22 billion disposable cups, 18 billion disposable eating utensils, and 11 disposable plates are used.
Very often, the products for which these plastic packagings are designed, are used
up in 15 minutes.
What becomes of them? They do not vanish into thin air!
In truth, they are just “redirected” to be buried or incinerated.
Any which way, they continue to pollute, just in another form.
Demand for fill-in space is far outstripping availability. There is also the
environmental polution associated with this method of disposal.  Most
domestic and commercial waste consists of plastics that cannot biodegrade.
Plastic can take up to 400 years to start to break down and can still be
there in 1000 years.
Our mission is to source and market earth-friendly packaging
alternatives to conventional disposable plastics both in the packaging
and the items in which food and drink are served.

Many of the items we offer are made from PLA NatureWorks, GMO-free corn.
About 37% less energy is used in their manufacture when compared to PET-based resin. NatureWorks PLA resin based service ware items are made upto the EN 13432 Certification;
are not made from toxic or pollution-causing sources;
and can be composted to reduce the amount of waste generated.
They can also help reduce waste collection bills in counties and cities which have
a food waste/green waste pickup.

Our corn plastic cold cups make perfect drink cups.
Made from 100% corn (NatureWorks PLA), corn plastic cups have the same look and feel as petroleum-based plastic cups.
They are great for iced coffee, beer and other cold beverages.
Corn Plastics - here today, and Gone tomorrow.
More and more people are demanding and showing preference for
environmental-friendly prepared and presented goods.
The cost of crude oil had doubled in just the last year. Consequently, the environmentally-friendly alternatives are now even more comparatively priced.
Stand out  from your competitors!
Show your business' Social Credentials by having your Logo printed on the cups.
BiopaK-Sol believe that products that have environmental benefits will
translate into sustainable economic development.
We also know the  consequences of plastics pollution in our society. They create a multitude of environmental hazards on land, at sea and in the atmosphere.
  Going green makes money!
A green image is a good image!!
Going green saves money!!!
Biodegradable polymers such as PLA plastic products will be responsible for
a significant shift away from (and replacement of) plastics in all areas of
society.
We also present bio-plastic items made from renewable resources such as wheat, rice, palm fruits. Please contact us if any bioplastic packaging product you want is not displayed on our web-site. The race to offer alternatives to the polluting PET and Styrofoam plastic means new products are tested and approved for food-contact packaging.
BiopaK-Sol intend to be part of the solution and will continue to work with others with the same goals.
