The BackCare Clinic was the first osteopathic clinic in the world to use Power Assisted Micro-Mobilisation (now known as TAMARS)and now the latest Theraflex system.  Using a powered mobilising instrument we can treat the whole spine, working on every joint and moving it in a way that cannot be done manually. A supple spine is a healthy spine and because we also stimulate the spinal reflexes, the treatment can bring suppleness back to the spine.  On average patients only need 3-5 treatments depending on the severity of their problem.

The clinic has successfull treated over 5,000 patients with this method and using the SpinalMouse can document the improvements in the spine.  Some patients have come as far away as US, Greece, France, Spain, India for treatment due to its success. If the problem is non-mechanical, we would refer you back to your doctor for further investigations. Approximately 97% of back pain is mechanical and therefore treatable.

Conditions we can treat are the severe chronic back and neck problems that have not responded to traditional therapy, whiplash injuries, scoliosis, kyophosis, headaches, frozen shoulder, sciatica (wonderful explanation on link) and prolapsed disc problems. Many of our patients have cancelled their surgery or injections because of this treatment and we have got people off of long term disability benefits.  However, even a healthy spine would benefit from a maintenance to avoid long term problems

The solution.

Advanced Spinal Mobilization InstrumentThe image to the left shows how the  device activates a deep spinal reflex by tapping specific points of the vertebrae to move apart and then alternatively back towards correct positioning, thus springing the spinal joints back towards their normal physiological range, in other words, it helps to realign the spine quickly and effectively and with remarkable ease and comfort.

The patient lies down on their stomach on the special Mantiss plinth and the device is used up and down the spine. It is also particularly good for loosening up tight, tense spasmodic muscles.
