2008!
Little Moonbeams Day Nursery offers the highest level of care to children from the age of three months up to five years.
As parents and carers we all know that a child's early years are the most formative and childhood is an extremely precious time. Our objective at Little Moonbeams is to allow each individual child the opportunity to explore and develop at their own pace within a carefully planned and stimulating environment.
The welfare of your child placed in our care is of paramount importance to us and we appreciate the huge decision that is made by parents and carers when considering if nursery care is right for your family. Finding the right setting for your child is of equal importance and great care has been taken to ensure Little Moombeams offers a home from home environment, allowing children to feel safe, happy and entirely comfortable. Our nursery building is a superb facility in the center of Faversham with a well equipped outdoor play area. The rooms are bright and stimulating and we offer excellent resources and equipment to aid your child's learning and development.
EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE
At Little Moonbeams we will be working to the statutory framework set by the Department for Education and Skills known as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This strategy outlines that 'Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfill their potential' and the EYFS has been put in place to provide that assurance for parents and carers of children from birth to five years.
Effective practice in the EYFS is built on four themes:
* A Unique Child - Every child is a competent learner who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. The commitments are focused around development: inclusion; safety; and health and well-being.
* Positive Relationships - Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person. The commitments are focused around respect; partnership with parents; supporting learning; and the role of the key person.
* Enabling Environment - The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning. The commitments are focused around observation, assessment and planning; support for every child; the learning environment; and the wider context - transitions, continuity, and multi-agency working.
* Learning and Development - Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
