Creating a table
Use tables on your webpages to ensure your text and images align. Tables can also be used to create unique layouts such as columns or galleries.
Regardless of the effect you want to achieve, the initial steps to create a table are always the same.
1. Place the cursor on the webpage where you want the table to appear.
2. Click Insert/Edit Tables
![]()
3. Using the guide below complete the Table Properties box.

Enter the number of horizontal rows
Columns
Enter the number of vertical columns.

The width of the table can be selected using either pixels or percent. For example 100 percent will create a table that spans the whole width of your page.
Border Size
For a table without a border enter 0.
Alignment
Select from the drop down box, how you want the table positioned e.g. Left, Centre or Right

This is the gap between the individual cells. The higher the number entered the bigger the gap. To make entering your information easier we recommend a value of 3 to begin with.
Cell padding
The distance between the edge of the table and the table content e.g. image. To make entering your information easier we recommend a value of 3 to begin with.
Caption
Complete if you want to give your table a title that will be displayed above it.
5. Click Add to Website
6. Below is an example of what a table looks like when first added to your page.
7. Now begin adding your text and images to each cell in turn.
N.B. At first the table on the webpage will appear small and feint . As you begin to add text or images it will initially distort, as the table adjusts to fit the content. We recommend entering all the text and images into your table before making any adjustments.
