Creating a Link to an Anchor on a Different Page
You can create a link from a webpage to a specific point on another webpage, this specific point is known as an [anchor].
- Go to Step 3 Webpages
- Select the page you want to the link to be directed to
- Click Edit
- Highlight the text or image you want users to be directed to
- Click Insert/Edit Anchor
- Click Create
- Enter a Unique name for your anchor, and make a note of it
Important - You must make a note of the full name of the anchor which should only be alpha numeric
- Click Add to website
- An Anchor icon appears to show the anchor has been placed
- Go to the page the link is to originate from
- Click Edit
- Highlight the text you want to originate the link from
- Click Insert/Edit
- Click Webpage
- Click Internal Webpage

- Choose the webpage you wish to link to
- Click Add to Website
- Go back and highlight the text you want to originate the link from
- Click Insert/Edit Link again
- Click External Webpage
- The box that appears will already have text in it. This text is the full address of the page you want to link to
- Leaving the text in the box put your cursor to the very end of the text and type # (hash symbol) then the name of the anchor you created in step 7
Important – If the name is incorrect the link will not work
- Click Add to website
- Click Save & Preview
- Click the originating text to test the anchor
