I have know signed up to reason8 as it seems like a really user friendly way of creating my website and manage it on an ongoing basis. I have a question about my domain name and recently purchased it from an alternative company. I have followed the instructions about changing the Nameservers however I am unsure if this means reason8 are hosting this now??? Do I have to continue to pay for the other company?

A website and the domain name are actually separate. When you sign up for a website with Reason8 the site itself is hosted with us. This means that the website sits on our servers and we are responsible for making sure that it is live.

The domain name however sits on a computer elsewhere. By changing the Nameservers you are simply directing the name to your website. But the name itself is still managed by the company you originally purchased it from. You will therefore still need to renew the name with the company you originally purchased it from. They should contact you near the time it is due for renewal. However to be sure I would suggest you make a note of when the name is due to expire.
