We are getting about 50 e-mails a day in a foreign language to our website. How can this be stopped?

The emails you are receiving are almost certainly spam. The contact form on your website has a captcha facility to stop spam programs from sending automatic emails via the form. However this does not stop individuals from completing the form.

Any email address displayed on the internet is open to being found and used by spammers. This is an endemic problem across the internet and affects all site owners. We have over the past few months increased the security around your email address so it is harder for your address to be crawled but this only reduces the problem and won't remove it completely.

At Reason8 we get in the region of around 1,500 spam emails per day. We manage this by using spam controls both in our email clients (such as Outlook) and proprietary spam filters.

The receipt of spam cannot be stopped, so the best course of action to minimise the effect on your email inbox and business as a whole is to establish a means of control. I would consider increasing any spam filters you use and if it is a real problem consider using additional filters

We hope this is helpful,
Reason8 Support

once your email address gets onto a spammers mailing list, it is virtually imposible to get off. If spam is proving dispuptive to your business then we recommend changing your address and advertising a new address on your websire. This is not an ideal solution for everyone especially if you have widely circulated the address. however, our spam protection systems will prevent your new email address from being harvested. For more information read our spam section of the userguide.
