If you are creating a link and want to amend it or correct any mistakes then you will have to first remove the link before re creating it. This can be done by highlighting the link and clicking on the break link button in the editor bar.
Without actually seeing the link it is difficult to establish what the problem could be. I would suggest removing the link as described above and then replacing it. If you still continue to have problems let me know which page the link is on and where it is placed and we will have a look at it for you.
